Great service from a server who was working just his second day! Clearly he's a professional restaurant worker. A recent visit was my 4th or 5th time and I have had the same issue: too much salt! Salads are always safe (obviously) but sometimes I want something more. This time I ordered French onion soup and a side salad. (Oddly enough, the typical cheese they melt over the crock is Muenster. I asked for Swiss instead. Why not use Gruyère?) By the time I was halfway through, I realized the soup was overwhelmingly salty. I'm just so disappointed that most restaurants rely on salt as a substitute for low and slow flavor development. My husband was very happy with his Mac n cheese with pulled pork--specifically because the sauce wasn't overly sweet. I agreed but did think the pasta was a bit overcooked (I like al dente even with baked pasta). The draw of Krough's apparently is their array of craft beers. Since I no longer drink alcohol, I can't attest to them. But I'm told I WOULD like them!
We came only for drinks-we sat up on the rooftop bar-so fun and welcoming. A shout out to Matthew!! He was an amazing sever-so friendly, attentive; knowledgeable and kind!! All servers should be this competent. He would be a reason I'd come back. Hospitality of this caliber is hard to find. Cocktails were delicious, and the beer looked great too. Fun place-cute area too!'
I always check the worst review before checking the best. In this case I found the worst very strange. This place was awesome! Friendly service, great bourbon selection and I didn't find it loud even though it was pretty full. The butternut squash soup was delicious, and the vegetarian nachos are fantastic. They were loaded with black beans, onions and peppers. A complete meal. Definitely worth a try and if we're ever in this neck of the woods we'll be back. PS. The soap in the bathroom smells great!
The most amazing bruschetta I have ever had! Crave it daily! I don't know if it's seasonal.
